もがけ!駐妻!!

Japanese Wife's Adventure in the U.S.

Good Relationship from a Solo Trip

We met in Yangon, Myanmar. We had each big backpack  in the bus terminal, and our first conversation was “Would you keep your eye on my backpack for a while?” from her. That was on the way to my second destination called Bagan where there are a lot of pagodas (historical and small temples).

At first, we made just small talk like the weather, something about home countries which are Korea and Japan, etc. After arriving at Bagan, we parted for each hotel but I didn’t think I would be friends with her even though we exchanged each contact information because we didn’t talk a lot. However, fortunately, we met again by chance since Bagan is a small village; additionally, the next destination was the same, Nyaungshwe. Gradually, we got closer little by little. One thing I knew afterwards was that she also hesitated to talk with me for the first time.

That trip taught me how interesting making friends is and the importance not to hesitate to do that.
